Grove City Council passed Resolution CR-05-19, in March 2019, to establish a Grove City Environmental Sustainability Committee. The objective of the committee was to develop a comprehensive sustainability plan including goals for the Built Environment, Natural Environment, Energy, Transportation, Waste Reduction and Recycling, Business Practices, City Operations and Community Engagement, and to identify action steps and strategies to meet those goals.
Mission Statement
The Environmental Sustainability Committee’s goals are to meet the needs of the present while supporting the future needs and long-term growth for the Grove City community. The committee promotes resource conservation, social equity and environmental responsibility while educating and supporting community involvement for a better quality of life now and for future generations.
After two years, the plan was adopted. The committee worked with the community, The Ohio State University City and Regional Planning Departments’ Sustainability Studio, and City of Grove City staff. The Grove City Sustainability Plan was adopted by City Council, Resolution CR-40-21, Monday, Aug. 2, 2021.
