RecSchool, Grove City Parks and Recreation’s preschool program, offers an age-appropriate group learning experience for pre-kindergarten children ages 3 through 5, at the Kingston Center, 3226 Kingston Ave.

Registration is now open for the 2023-2024 school year.

RecSchool operates September through May, with half-day classes offered one, two or three times per week from 9 to 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 to 3 p.m. Children must be 3 years old by Sept. 30 to participate.

Children learn through independent discovery, planned activities, meaningful play and social interactions in the program. Experienced teachers plan art, literacy, music, math and science activities to create a well-rounded and thought-provoking educational experience. With a curriculum aligned with the Ohio Department of Education’s Early Learning and Development Standards, RecSchool prepares young children for success in grade school and beyond by fostering a love of learning, self-confidence, creativity, social skills and independence.

RecSchool is committed to fostering children’s connection to nature by bringing natural elements into the classroom, and by engaging in monthly Adventure Days, when class is held in a Grove City park: Fryer, Gantz or Windsor.
