The Grove City Action Plan to Promote Mental Health & Prevent Substance Use Disorders
Grove City passed legislation to form a committee to collaboratively create an action plan addressing the mental health inequities and substance use disorder crisis in our community.
The Grove City Action Plan to Promote Mental Health & Prevent Substance Use Disorders was presented by the Committee and legislation accepting the plan was passed in July, 2022.
- The Plan links Grove City efforts with county and state-level initiatives, focused on breaking down the stigma of mental illness and substance use disorders, increasing resource visibility and supporting recovery.
The Vision: Promote a healthy community and provide support to foster the highest quality care and enhance the well-being of all.
The Mission: Positively impact the culture, attitudes and practices around mental health and substance use disorders and reduce individual and societal harms by investing in collaboration, education, prevention, treatment, harm reduction and support; creating a society in which people who need help feel comfortable seeking it and celebrated for their efforts.
The Plan has four priority areas:
- collaboration; education; prevention; and treatment, harm reduction and support.
Intentionally designed as a flexible plan, subcommittees were formed to establish and carry out focused tasks within each priority area aimed to meet identified goals. The public document outlines identified initiatives.
