The Memorial Day parade, hosted by American Legion Paschall Post 164 and Veterans of Foreign War 8198, starts at 11 a.m., Monday, May 29, when the parade steps off from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3730 Broadway and travels to City Hall in historic Town Center.

The procession travels south on Broadway to Grove City Road, west to the Grove City Cemetery for the traditional Memorial Day service.
On Memorial Day, the flag is flown at half-staff from sunrise to noon.

The American Legion Paschall Post 164 and Veterans of Foreign War 8198 hosts the Memorial Day service at the Grove City Cemetery, 3605 Grove City Road,  at 11 a.m., Monday, May 29. This is a rain-or-shine event.

Following the service, the American Legion Post 164 is hosting an open house,  3363 McDowell Road, for the remainder of the day. The event is open to the public and includes food and beverages. For additional information, call the American Legion Paschall Post 164 at 614-875-5106.

Our community is widely recognized as one that cherishes patriotism and honors its many distinguished military heroes. Residents and guests are encouraged to visit Grove City’s parks, monuments and memorial sites honoring and remembering service members who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in war.

Traffic Reminder | Memorial Day Parade

Rolling road closures from approximately 10:45 a.m. to noon, Broadway from Southwest Boulevard to Grove City Road, and Grove City Road from Broadway to Elm Street. Roads will be temporarily closed for the Memorial Day parade.


National Moment of Remembrance

Share your patriotism with others by playing taps at home. Dust off your trumpet or bugle to sound the call this Memorial Day. The National Moment of Remembrance is an annual event inviting Americans to play taps wherever they are at 3 p.m., Memorial Day, then pause for one minute to remember those who have died in military service. Residents can share their videos on the Taps Across America website or share on social media and tag #GroveCityMemorialDay.

Memorial Day Flag Etiquette

On Memorial Day, the flag is flown at half-staff from sunrise to noon to honor deceased military, and raised to full staff the remainder of the day to recognize living veterans. Visit the Veterans of Foreign Wars website for additional information regarding flag etiquette.
