GARAGE SALE PERMITS
Planning a garage sale? Garage Sale permits are required for all addresses holding a garage or yard sale within the Grove City limits. Permits are free, the application is available below. Permits may also be obtained by phone at 614-277-3000 or in-person at City Hall, 4035 Broadway, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Approved permits will be emailed to applicants. Please allow two business days for approval.
REGULATIONS
Per Grove City Code, Chapter 713, a garage sale is defined as the display or advertisement for sale of five or more articles of tangible personal property in the residential zoning district. Residential zoning includes single-family and multi-family homes, apartments and condominiums.
A garage sale application must be completed and approved by the City of Grove City prior to the first day of the sale. Only two garage sale permits can be issued for a single address during a 12-month period. Permits are valid for no more than three consecutive days and may not be operated after sunset.
Signs are not permitted on utility poles, street and stop signs, or public property, including the right-of-way between the sidewalk and the street. Illegally posted signs will be removed. One sign announcing the sale may be erected on the sale premises, and two signs may be erected off the premises. Such signs shall be erected no earlier than the night before the first day of the sale, and signs shall be removed no later than the close of the final day of the sale. The signs or placards may be no larger than three square feet.
CURRENT WEEK’S APPROVED GARAGE SALES
A list of permitted Grove City garage sales is updated weekly. In order to have a permit holder’s sale on the list, permit must be received by noon Tuesdays. Permits obtained after that time are still valid but a listing on the City website is not guaranteed.
