Current Status
The intersection of Grove City and Demorest roads is scheduled to open at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23. All temporary closures will open. The intersection has been widened in preparation for traffic signals to be installed in mid-December.
Minor construction efforts will continue in the area through December. Short-term closures and restrictions may result in delays. The contractor will return in the spring to install surface course asphalt and complete all final restoration.
Drivers are encouraged to use extra care when traveling in the construction area.

BRECK COMMUNITY PARK
The main entrance and parking lot for Breck Community Park are closed for the duration of the project, anticipated to be completed in October 2022. Please visit the Grove City Parks and Facilities Improvement Projects page for updates.
SUBDIVISION IMPACTS
Demorest Road (within closure)
Demorest Road residents within the construction zone are asked to use caution and yield to construction crews and equipment. Motorists may experience short delays. Local access will be maintained; however, travel through the zone will remain northbound only. Therefore, residents’ trash and mail servicers will need to enter the zone from the south (Grove City Road), navigate northbound through the area, and exit at the northernmost limit. A city project inspector will be onsite and may be contacted with construction and access concerns. Crews will notify residents of any impending closures.
Anglebrook Drive
Residents on Anglebrook Drive will not have access to Demorest Road. The City provided access at the west end of the street, utilizing Larchmere Drive. Detours and signage detailing No Through Traffic will be posted.
Tanglebrook and Autumn Grove Subdivisions
Drivers should follow posted detour and speed limit signs.
Demorest Road, within Tanglebook, will be resurfaced in November when the entire project corridor receives surface course pavement. Final restoration in the area will be completed in the fall when the entire corridor can be treated to take advantage of the fall growing season.

The project was designed to improve safety within this heavily traveled corridor, while enhancing access from the surrounding residential subdivisions to Breck Community Park, Brookpark Middle School and the Town Center.
DEMOREST ROAD IMPROVEMENTS | PHASE II
The City of Grove City was awarded funding from the Ohio Public Works Commission for the reconstruction and widening of Demorest Road from Basswood Avenue to Big Run South Road.
The Demorest Road project will include full-depth pavement reconstruction and widening of the roadway segment. Improvements also include a multi-use path, sidewalk, street lighting and updates to the stormwater system.
The project is currently in the concept development phase. At this time, the City is preparing to apply for grant and/or loan assistance through the State Capital Improvement Program and/or the Local Transportation Improvement Program.

Grove City Traffic Updates
Demorest Road Closures
Due to safety concerns and unforeseen conditions, lane restrictions for the Demorest Road Improvements project, between Grove City Road and Basswood Avenue, have changed to full road closures to through traffic until October 2022. The schedule of construction events is:
- Demorest Road north of Grove City Road to Basswood Avenue remains closed to all through traffic through Oct. 2022. Only local traffic (those residents living within the closure or those needing access to Beulah Park Middle School site or the Seventh Day Adventist Church) should enter the construction zone and travel northbound to their home through the closure area. Follow posted detours.
- Full closure of the Grove City and Demorest roads intersection begins Thursday, Oct. 27 for 30 days, for traffic signal installation and intersection widening. The detour is Holt Road to Southwest Boulevard, Broadway to Grove City Road, and the reverse. Demorest Road, north of Grove City Road, will be open to two-way traffic.
