The City of Grove City is seeking proposals from experienced civil engineering consulting firms for contract city engineering services and professional design services. Submit any question via Bid Express by 3 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14.

Engineering firms interested in being considered must submit proposals via Bid Express no later than 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 18.

Purpose of Request

The purpose of this Request for Proposals announcement is to solicit resumes from qualified law firms and individual attorneys who desire to serve the City of Grove City in the capacity of Law Director.  Presently, the city contracts with a law firm for law director services.

Submit any question to City Administrator Chuck Boso by 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14. The submittal deadline is 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 18.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS | MARSH RUN RESTORATION AT GANTZ PARK

The City of Grove City, through the City Administrator, will receive sealed bids for the Marsh Run Restoration at Gantz Park project via Bid Express, until 11:00 a.m. local time on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 and at that time and place will be publicly opened and read aloud. Grove City will neither open nor accept bids received after that time. Subject to the right of Grove City to reject any or all bids, Grove City will award contracts to the bidder(s) submitting the lowest and best bid(s). The work for which Grove City is inviting bids consists of the following:

Base Bid
Approximately 1,550 linear feet of stream restoration along Marsh Run, including raising the channel bed to reduce entrenchment, establishing an active floodplain, relocating the channel away from the existing retaining wall along Home Road, re-grading and stabilizing eroded channel banks, addressing exposed bridge abutments, establishing a native tree and shrub riparian corridor and other related work.

The estimated costs of construction for the work outlined in the plans and specifications for the Base Bid is:
Base Bid: $ 991,000.00

In order to be considered, Contractors must submit bids on the Base Bid. Hard copies of the Contract Documents and Specifications will not be provided. Contract Documents and Specifications may be obtained from Bid Express only and at costs associated with the Bid Express service fee schedule. Payment for these items will not be refunded.

Each bid shall contain the full name and address of each person or company interested in the same and shall be accompanied by a bond meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and written on the form included with the Contract Documents.

Each Bidder must ensure that no employees and applicants for employment are discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, Vietnam Era nor disabled veterans, or National origin.

Schedule: The work shall commence within sixty (60) calendar days after the City issues the Notice to Proceed for the Contract. The work shall be completed within two hundred ninety five (295) calendar days from the City’s issuance of the Notice to Proceed for the Contract.

The Bidder is required to state in full detail, with their Bid, their experience in this class of work; bids from contractors inexperienced in this particular class of work may not be considered.

This project requires payment of prevailing wages to all workers during the course of construction activities. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on public improvements in Franklin County and the City of Grove City, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Labor & Worker Safety, Wage and Hour Division, 614-644-2239. State of Ohio prevailing wage rates are included in the Contract Documents and prospective bidders shall take them into account in preparing bids.

The City of Grove City, Ohio, reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive technical defects as the interest of the City may require; and, to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the lowest and best bidder for the Contract.
