Coaching Information

Grove City Parks and Recreation would not be able to provide the premier youth sports programs our community enjoys without the generous donation of time and effort from our volunteer coaches. Anyone interested in helping is encourage to complete an application – there are resources available to help new coaches!

Any adult who is on the court/field of play during a game or practice must complete a coaching application and pass a background check, whether a head coach or assistant. Coaches are expected to follow the code of conduct at all times and focus on the teaching of fundamentals, good sportsmanship and enjoyment for all.

All head coaches are required to be certified through the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA). Head coaches who are already certified can become certified online at the National Association for Youth Sports’ website. Ohio law also requires all youth coaches and officials to complete free online training programs on sudden cardiac arrest (Lindsay’s Law) and concussions in youth sports.

Coaching applications are available in the Parks and Recreation office or may be downloaded below and returned to the Kingston Center.

Thank you to our 2020 youth baseball coaches.
