Celebrate everyday life in an emerging Ohio farm community in the late 1800s through hands-on experiences, building tours, interactions with re-enactors and demonstrations, from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020.
Step into the blacksmith shop to see an actual blacksmith demonstrate customary metal working techniques. Toss horseshoes, taste hardtack, use a washboard and bin to clean clothes, saw wood, and make rope and other crafts. Wander through log cabins and barns, a one-room school house original to the site, a general store and more to view artifacts and hear stories of how our ancestors lived as well as the history of Century Village from members of the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society.
This annual event is presented by the City of Grove City and the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society. Admission is free, but donations to the Grove City Food Pantry are accepted. Food, drinks and crafts are available for purchase.
