Programmed After-school Recreation for Kids (P.A.R.K.) Childcare Programs


P.A.R.K. is a childcare program that offers a safe place for elementary-school-aged children to stay physically, mentally and socially active when South-Western City Schools are in session. P.A.R.K. sites are closed when South-Western City School District (SWCSD) buildings are closed.


6 to 8 am at the Kingston Center. Featuring supervised care and recreational activities as well as breakfast.


2:40 to 6 pm operates in the gymnasiums of five South-Western City School District (SWCSD) elementary schools at Buckeye Woods, J.C. Sommer, Highland Park, Monterey and Richard Avenue elementary schools. Children should bring a snack and water bottle to P.A.R.K. daily and dress to play comfortably outside.

Summer P.A.R.K.

A full-day childcare program for children who have completed kindergarten through fourth grade. Offering cooperative games, fitness, indoor and outdoor play, free art, special interest and free-choice activities, on-site learning labs and more.

  • Weekdays, 7 am to 6 pm
    Monday through Friday
  • Nine-week
  • Located at two South-Western City School District sites.

Summer Play Zone

A fun, outdoor-focused program for children who have completed kindergarten through fourth grade. Developing self-esteem, independence and social skills through highly active games, outrageous play, special activities, free-choice art and adventurous off-site trips.

  • Weekdays, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm
    Monday through Thursday
  • Six-week program, June through July
  • Located at the Kingston Center
