Grove City Parks and Recreation offers basketball leagues for students in kindergarten through grade 12 focusing on basic technical skills and sportsmanship in a fun, upbeat environment. Boys and girls play in separate leagues.

Register in person between Monday, Oct. 3 and Monday, Nov. 7 in the Parks and Recreation Office in Kingston Center, 3226 Kingston Ave. The office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with special extended hours until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25. Registration is by individual and includes a team jersey. Fees are $83 for Grove City residents and $88 for non-residents.

Teams practice one evening during the week with games on Saturdays. Practices start the week of Dec. 12 and the season opens on Saturday, Jan. 7. Season-ending tournaments for grades three through 12 are held in early March. There are no games or practices when South-Western City Schools are closed for scheduled breaks or inclement weather.

Volunteer coaches are needed. No prior coaching experience is required, just patience and a positive attitude.
