The City of Grove City residential leaf collection is extended, weather permitting. Leaves should be at the curb as soon as possible. The final sweep is in process. Residents, if your leaves are not at the curb, they may not be picked up as crews will be working to hit each street by the end of the week. If you still have leaves after curbside leaf collection ends, you can place them in yard waste bags/containers for collection by Local Waste Services on your regular trash pickup day. An alternative is mower mulching, providing lawn nutrients and natural fertilizer.
Rake leaves to the grassy area between the street and sidewalk or to the edge of the lawn, if there are no sidewalks. Do not rake or blow leaves into the street, this creates storm sewer blockages and parking issues. Leaf piles will not kill grass, although temporary fading may occur. Vehicles should not be parked in front of, or on top of, leaves during scheduled collection weeks. This collection is for leaves only. The equipment works efficiently on leaves, but easily damaged by other materials such as branches, twigs, grass clippings, rocks and other debris.
Visit the leaf collection web page for additional information.
If leaves have not been picked up, please call the Grove City Service Department at 614-277-1100 to determine the status of collection.
