The City of Grove City offers residential leaf collection beginning Tuesday, Oct. 15. Each of the City’s four collection areas is assigned two, week-long periods through Friday, Dec. 6.
Prior to the first day of the designated collection week, homeowners should rake leaves to the grassy area between the street and sidewalk or to the edge of the lawn, if there is no sidewalk. Leaf piles will not kill grass, although temporary fading may occur. Do not rake or blow leaves into the street, this can cause storm sewer blockages and parking issues. Vehicles should not be parked in front of, or on top of, leaves during scheduled collection weeks. This collection is for leaves only and crews travel each street once during the designated week. The equipment works efficiently on leaves, but is easily damaged by other materials such as branches, twigs, grass clippings, rocks and other debris.
Residents choosing to have leaves picked up prior to or after their scheduled date can place leaves in yard waste bags/containers for collection by Local Waste Services on their regular trash pickup day. An alternative is mower mulching, providing lawn nutrients and natural fertilizer.

Planned collection dates may change due to weather conditions and when the leaves fall.
