The City of Grove City residential leaf collection is extended through Friday, Dec. 13, weather permitting. If snow falls leaf collection will stop.
The final sweep of the City begins Monday, Dec. 9. Residents, if your leaves are not at the curb, they will not be picked up as crews will be working to get to each street by the end of the week. If you still have leaves after curbside leaf collection ends, you can place leaves in yard waste bags/containers for collection by Local Waste Services on your regular trash pickup day. An alternative is mower mulching, providing lawn nutrients and natural fertilizer.
Homeowners should rake leaves to the grassy area between the street and sidewalk or to the edge of the lawn, if there is no sidewalk. Leaf piles will not kill grass, although temporary fading may occur. Do not rake or blow leaves into the street, this can cause storm sewer blockages and parking issues. Vehicles should not be parked in front of, or on top of, leaves during scheduled collection weeks. This collection is for leaves only and crews travel each street once during the designated week. The equipment works efficiently on leaves, but is easily damaged by other materials such as branches, twigs, grass clippings, rocks and other debris.
Residents choosing to have leaves picked up prior to or after their scheduled date can place leaves in yard waste bags/containers for collection by Local Waste Services on their regular trash pickup day. An alternative is mower mulching, providing lawn nutrients and natural fertilizer.
