Celebrate Independence Day 2018 with family fun and a community fireworks show in Grove City from 6 to 10:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 4 at Grove City High School, 4665 Hoover Road. Parking lots open at 5:30 p.m.

Free children’s activities sponsored by the City of Grove City and the Grove City Church of the Nazarene are available from 6 to 9 p.m., including games, inflatables and a rock climbing wall on the Grove City High School training field. The fireworks show starts at approximately 9:50 p.m. with a simulcast soundtrack airing on radio station Qfm96, WLVQ-96.3. Seating is available in the stadium bleachers and in the areas outside the fenced-off blast zone.

All carry-in items are subject to search by security. Blankets, lawn chairs and most other personal items are permitted. The following are prohibited: grills, alcohol, weapons, personal fireworks including sparklers, skates, bicycles, skateboards, pop-up tents and canopies, and pets other than service dogs. Coolers are not permitted in the stadium. Food and beverages are available for purchase.

Parking is restricted to one side of the street in the following neighborhoods: Briarwood, Hoover Crossing, Marthas Wood and Clark Drive from 5:30 to 11:45 p.m.  Free parking is available at Grove City High School, Grove City Church of the Nazarene and Windsor Park. Parking is also available at Murfin Field for a fee, to support the Grove City Kids Association. Tailgating with grills, flatbed trailers and recreational vehicles are prohibited.

Hoover Road will close to southbound traffic from White Road to the Nazarene Church beginning at approximately 9:40 p.m.

  • All traffic exiting the north High School exit will be directed north on Hoover Road.
  • All traffic exiting the south High School exit will be directed straight across onto Gershwin Avenue.

Hoover Road will close to northbound traffic from Holton Road to the Nazarene Church at approximately 9:40 p.m.

  • All traffic exiting the Nazarene Church will be directed south on Hoover Road.
  • Eastbound Orders Road traffic will have to turn right heading south.

In case of severe weather, the fireworks will be launched Thursday, July 5. Other activities will not be rescheduled.
