NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Babbert Way Pickleball Courts Request for Proposal

The City of Grove City, through the City Administrator, will receive sealed bids for the Babbert Way Pickleball Courts at City Hall, 4035 Broadway, until 11:00 a.m. local time on Friday, July 17, 2020 and at that time and place will be publicly opened and read aloud. Grove City will neither open nor accept bids received after that time. Subject to the right of Grove City to reject any or all bids, Grove City will award contracts to the bidder(s) submitting the lowest and best bid(s).

The work for which bids are being accepted for the Base Bid consists of approximately 1,570 SY of asphalt pickleball courts and 4,360 SF of concrete walk. One alternate bid is included with the project for the installation of a lighting system.

The estimated costs of construction for the work outlined in the plans and specifications are:
Base Bid ‐ $240,800.00
Alternate 1 ‐ $71,200.00

Copies of the Contract Documents and Specifications are on file at Grove City Hall, 4035 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 where they are available for inspection by prospective bidders on or after Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Contract Documents and Specifications may be obtained from the abovelocation. Bidding documents are available at a cost of $100.00 per set. Payment for these items will not be refunded. Please make checks payable to the City of Grove City.

Each bid shall contain the full name and address of each person or company interested in the same and shall be accompanied by a bond meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and written on the form included with the Contract Documents.

Each Bidder must ensure that no employees and applicants for employment are discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, Vietnam Era nor disabled veterans, or National origin.

Schedule: The work shall commence within thirty (30) calendar days after the City issues the Notice to Proceed for the Contract. The work shall be completed within seventy‐five (75) calendar days from the City’s issuance of the Notice to Proceed for the Contract.

The Bidder will be required to state in full detail, with their Bid, their experience in this class of work; bids from contractors inexperienced in this particular class of work may not be considered.

This project requires payment of prevailing wages to all workers during the course of construction activities. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on public improvements in Franklin County and the City of Grove City, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Labor & Worker Safety, Wage and Hour Division, 614-644‐2239. State of Ohio prevailing wage rates are included in the Contract Documents and prospective bidders shall take them into account in preparing bids.

The City of Grove City, Ohio, reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive technical defects as the interest of the City may require; and, to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the lowest and best bidder for the Contract.
