Winter Lights Christmas Celebration

Come celebrate the spirit of the season with the community throughout the Grove City Town Center during this popular annual event!
CITY-SPONSORED ACTIVITIES AND PERFORMANCES
City-sponsored activities take place along Broadway between Grant Avenue and Grove City Road from 6 to 8 p.m.
Ice sculptor | Grant Avenue, southwest corner
What symbol of the season will this year’s block of ice be transformed into?
Santa Visits | Jackson Street, southeast corner
Children share their wishes with the Jolly, Old Elf. Take your own photo or make a $5 donation to T.W.I.G. 184 benefiting Nationwide Children’s Hospital to receive one.
Community Tree | Town Center Plaza, Park Street, northwest corner
Check out this year’s tree and watch for the lights to come on after the parade is over.
Musical Stage | Broadway, south of Park Street
Listen to local choirs as they share festive carols.
Horse-drawn Wagon Rides | Park Street, southeast corner
Make a monetary, food or toy donation to receive an old-time wagon ride.
Charitable Donation Collection Point | Park Street, southeast corner
Drop off monetary, food or personal hygiene products for the Grove City Food Pantry or a toy or gift card donation for the Firefighters holiday toy drive.
Reindeer | Civic Place, southeast corner
See a real-life reindeer like the ones living near the North Pole.
Grove City Christmas Parade | 7:30 p.m. Step Off
The parade features marching bands, floats decorated in Christmas lights and more. The parade route starts at Park Street Intermediate School, proceeds north on Wilbur Avenue, turns west down Columbus Street, travels south on Broadway through the Town Center then east on Park Street back to the school. Mistletoe Market | Saturday, Dec. 1, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
Throughout the Town Center; tents and food trucks located on Park Street west of Broadway
Building upon the tradition of the German Kristkindl Market dating back to the sixth century, the Grove City Town Center is hosting the annual Mistletoe Market. This festive holiday shopping market brings old world charm and warmth to Grove City’s Historic Town Center. Shop for unique and creative gift items, decorations and delicious treats to enjoy yourself or share with others while strolling through festive market spaces including Town Center businesses, the heated grand tent, various outdoor tents and inside City Hall’s lobby and Council Chambers.

Christmas Tree, Toy and Musical Instrument Displays | Weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Grove City Welcome Center and Museum, 3378 Park Street
Warm up while participating in holiday-themed contests and viewing a display of festive decorations and Christmas trees as well as antique toys and unusual musical instruments from around the world. Displays continue through Friday, Dec. 28.

View the annual exhibit of works by local artists and cast a vote for your favorite for the People’s Choice Award while enjoying holiday music and an art market.

Fee: $10 per person; $8 for age 55 and older (proceeds benefit the Grove City Food Pantry and Emergency Services)

Take part in the Grove City Christmas Home Tour and view charming holiday decorations in beautiful homes. Tickets will be sold during tour hours at the Grove City Welcome Center and Museum, 3378 Park St. Tickets may also be purchased pre-sale at the Sommer House Gallery, 4038 Broadway, and the Grove City Welcome Center & Museum during normal operating hours. Jackson Township Fire Holiday Toy Program
To donate gifts through Friday, Dec. 21:
Drop-off at Jackson Township Fire Stations: 4343 Grove City Road, 3650 Hoover Road and 2650 London-Groveport Road
The Jackson Township Fire Department continues their Firefighters for Kids program to provide toys during the holidays to less fortunate children up to age 12. They appreciate the huge role the public plays in supporting this program.
To donate, drop off a new, unwrapped toy or gift card at a Jackson Township Fire Station.
Register a child to receive gifts: Jackson Township Fire Station 202, 3650 Hoover Road, Monday-Friday, Nov. 26-Nov. 30, Tuesday, Dec. 11 and Wednesday, Dec. 12; 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
New for 2012, registration for an in-need child must be completed in person during the assigned hours. Applicants are required to bring a photo ID, utility bill with current address and a birth certificate for each child for whom assistance is requested.
