Flyover Salute Details
As a tribute to the military, the Commemorative Air Force will fly over the event with World War II and Korean War-era fighters at approximately 8:30 p.m. A World War II P-51 Mustang and LT-6 Korean War tribute aircraft will perform several passes including the poignant "Missing Man" formation.
This P-51 Mustang "Red Nose" has had a long and colorful history, dating back to the closing days of World War II. The LT-6 Mosquito is a Korean War tribute aircraft. Originally an SNJ-4, this aircraft recently went through a six-year restoration and was completed as an LT-6D. More information about these aircrafts will be presented during the ceremony.
