Saturday, Feb. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. in historic Grove City Town Center.
Grove City Council’s Art Concern presents the “The Quilted Traveler” through mid-March. The exhibit features contemporary quilts designed and sewn by Karen M. Trifonoff. Embroidery, applique and piecing, by hand and by machine, along with hand and machine quilting are evident in Trifonoff’s work. View traditional and modern quilt designs. The exhibit features cartographic materials and map-themed fabrics incorporated into many of the quilts.
The Southwest Franklin County Historical Society is also featuring “The History of Quilting” exhibit. Experience the origins and history of quilting, tools used and traditional quilt patterns. Linda Lewis is curator, collecting for more than 50 years. Learn about the origins of the many quilts on display, provided by Jan Evans.
The Museum is located at 3378 Park St., open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Art Concern exhibit in City Hall, 4035 Broadway, is open to the public, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
