Join family and friends at the Grant-Sawyer Home Open House and Bell Ringing 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 29 at the restored home, 4126 Haughn Road, where you can interact with Southwest Franklin County Historical Society volunteers and view historically accurate furnishings in one of the oldest homes in Jackson Township.
Grove City area churches will participate in a city-wide bell ringing at noon. The inspiration for the bell ringing is the historical custom of having all city bells ring simultaneously to mark key events. The Declaration of Independence and notable events during George Washington’s presidency were celebrated by bell ringing. The tradition is now an annual event marking one of Grove City’s oldest homes.
Parking is available on Gladman Avenue and in the Park Street Intermediate School lot.
The Grove City Museum and Welcome Center, 3378 Park St., will also be open 8 a.m. to noon.
