Grove City Council’s Art Concern presents Full Circle – a Memorial Art Exhibition, a collection of works by the late Ray Kline (1932-2019), on display Monday, April 22 through Friday, May 31 at City Hall, 4035 Broadway, in historic Grove City Town Center.

Kline’s work was featured in The Art Concern’s first exhibit at City Hall in 1991. He went on to serve as curator of exhibitions for more than 18 years. “We now come full circle with this exhibit,” explains Dean Kette, Kline’s friend and show coordinator. “On generous loan from collectors is an assembly of [Kline’s] paintings and drawings that spans nearly 60 years, from ‘Cannonball’ (1962) to his final creation ‘Paid,’ completed in November 2018.”

Family and friends will share stories about his life work and the artistic techniques behind his pieces at a reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 24.

Kline’s colorful and whimsical compositions display his love of jazz, faith and the joy he found in using whatever was at hand as he worked. The creations are happy and “you can almost hear the music,” says Kette.
