Planning Commission

The Planning Commission consists of the Mayor and four (4) citizen members serving overlapping four-year terms.

The Commission reviews and recommends action for development, improvement proposals, proposed code amendments and provides a public forum for discussion of plans and proposed development. Applicants must seek the recommendation of the Planning Commission before obtaining approval from City Council for either new development or alterations to existing building structures. The decision of the Planning Commission serves as a recommending body to City Council with exception to decisions on Lot Split applications.

The Planning Commission meets once a month on the first Tuesday following the first Monday of each month. Meetings are held in Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall, 4035 Broadway at 1:30 p.m. and are open to the public. Special meetings may be held at any time upon call of the Chair with at least a 24-hour notice (either written or personal contact) to each Commission member.
