Road Construction | Traffic Updates | Memorial Day Weekend

The Grove City Division of Police reports the following temporary road closures for events scheduled over the Memorial Day weekend.

Megan's Miles | Sunday, May 26

Temporary traffic restrictions will be in place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday, May 26 for Megan's Miles, a road race to benefit Nationwide Children's Hospital.

The four-mile run begins at noon at Central Crossing High School, 4500 Big Run South Road.  Runners will travel east on Big Run South Road to Justus Road. Traffic will be restricted to west only on Big Run South Road between Demorest Road and Justus Road while runners are on the course. Runners will travel on Justus Road to Lewis Center Way. Justus Road will be restricted to westbound traffic. Runners will then proceed south on Lewis Centre Way in the curb lane. Two-way traffic will be maintained with a runners' lane designated by traffic cones.

From Lewis Center Way, runners will proceed west on Southwest Blvd. in the curb lane. This lane also will be designated with traffic cones. Runners will continue to Central Crossing High School.

A walking course will also be available. This course begins at Big Run South Road and will proceed to Demorest Road. Demorest Road South will be closed to north/south vehicle traffic to Southwest Blvd.

Grove City Police Officers will be stationed along the course to aid motorists and runners. Lane restrictions and closures will end immediately after all runners and walkers are off the route.

Stringtown Road Construction

The traffic pattern on Stringtown Road between McDowell Road and Hoover Road has shifted to the south side of the road with three lanes (east bound, west bound and center turn).

Traffic and access to all properties and businesses along the project corridor will be maintained. Drivers are encouraged to use extra care when traveling through the construction zone.

The City will work in cooperation with the Grove City Division of Police and the contractor, Nickolas Savko & Sons, Inc., to maintain traffic effectively. Some night work is expected during construction. The estimated project completion is late August 2013.

Construction updates will be sent via the "From the Grove" E-newsletter and on the City’s Facebook and Twitter pages. For additional information, call the Grove City Public Service Department at 614-277-1100.
